The service for Keith Peterson will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ayrshire. Reverend Hojin Shin will officiate.

Interment was in Silve Lake Cemetery in Ayrshire. Military Graveside Rites will be rendered by American Legion Post #173 of Ayrshire. Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Keith Eugene Peterson, son of Ralph and Amy (Johnson) Peterson, was born Feb. 10, 1946 in Emmetsburg. He graduated from Ayrshire High School in 1963.

Keith served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged he returned to Palo Alto County.

On March 25, 1972, Keith was united in marriage to Debbra Kenyon at the United Methodist Church in Hartley. To this union four sons were born. Keith and Debbra made their home near Ayrshire where Keith farmed and raised hogs.

Keith was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ayrshire. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #173 in Ayrshire.

Keith loved farming. He and Debbra also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and southern Canada. Keith was always ready to take a trip to a new area whether by mini van or a fifth wheel camper.

Keith passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kaleb Peterson; and a sister, Ruth Angove.

He is survived by his wife, Debbra of Spencer, Iowa; his children, Brian (Kristen) Peterson of Edwardsville, Illinois, Eric (Tammy) Peterson of Spencer, Iowa, Kevin (Joy) Peterson of West Des Moines, Iowa and John (Krystle) Peterson of Lynnwood, Washington; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; a sister, Anita (Gordon) Bethune of Carrol, Nebraska; as well as many other relatives and friends.
