Local Residents Among Top 100 Nurses In Iowa

May 8, 2018
Emmetsburg News

As part of National Nurses Week 2018, a pair of area nursing professionals have been named to the list of 100 Great Iowa Nurses. Ceremonies honoring the 100 angels of mercy were Sunday, May 6, at the Iowa Events Center Grand Ballroom in Des Moines.

Julie Kliegl of Arnolds Park, a nurse at Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake, and Bryan Williams of Emmetsburg, a nurse at Mercy North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, were honored in the event.

This is the 14th anniversary of the event. The celebration is an annual prelude to National Nurses Week, which begins on May 6 and ends May 12.

Nurses selected for this honor represent many sectors of health care, working as nurses in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, and offices. They come from all practice areas in nursing, including acute care, sub-acute care, school nursing, nurse leaders, academics, and many more.
