E-Hawk Thinclads Run At Storm Lake’s Tornado Relays

STORM?LAKE - The E-Hawks of Emmetsburg ran in the Tornado Relays at Storm Lake on April 25 and came home with several solid finishes for their efforts. Coach Tyler Beving's squad would finish third in the final team standings with 70 points behind Humbold and Pocahontas Area.

Leading the way for the E-Hawks was Blake VerMulm in winning the 100 meter dash with his time of :10.98. VerMulm would then earn a second place finish in the 200 meter dash with a finish of :22.80.

Dawson Moen would claim second place in the 800 meter run with his time of 2:12.96, while Cruz Bowman earned a second place finish in the 3200 meter run with his 11:01.34 clocking and then finished third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:07.11.

Niklas Kulms would earn second place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.22, while Zach Foxhoven earned a fourth place finish by clearing a height of 5'8" . Jacob Myers would place fifth in the discus, coming away with a throw of 123'6", and Flavio Panci finished 14th with a throw of 67'2".

Cole Shirk placed 10th in the 400 meter hurdles with his time of 1:05.06, while in the 400 meter dash, Gauje Hayenga placed 10th in 1:00.50 and Sean Brennan earned 14th place with a time of 1:03.66.

In the shot put Nick Schany would end up in 10th place with a throw of 40'8" and Jimmie Steffens earned 11th with a throw of 39'5", while Cole Keller placed ninth in the high jump by clearing 5'4" and in the long jump, Cole Shirk ended up with a ninth place finish by leaping 17'11.75".

In relay events, Emmetsburg finished second in the Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.65, while the 4x200 relay squad finished in fourth place with a 1:29.29 clocking. The 4x100 relay would place sixth with a :49.09 effort and the 4x400 relay also finished sixth with a time of 3:59.72 and the Distance Medley relay rounded out the effort with a sixth place finish in 4:11.05.
