The Emmetsburg E-Hawks earned a 17-1 victory over West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate in baseball action Friday night. The win improved Coach Brett Hansen's team to 7-6 on the season.

The E-Hawks would quickly take command of the contest on Friday night, pushing four runs over the plate in the top of the first inning. Ben Dunlap, Nick Schany and Jeremiah Weir all came home off a Home Run from Weir. Lex Kassel would also score a run off a walk and a fielders' choice before Nick Krieg was left waiting to end the at-bat.

The Wolverines would score a run from Cole Hoskins in the bottom of the first off a series of walks, but WBM/GCB would leave Thad Fogarty waiting on base when the inning ended.

With a 4-1 lead to start the second, Emmetsburg started at the top of the order once again and duplicated their first inning with another four runs. Hunter McAllister, Ben Dunlap and Nick Schany all came home and Lex Kassel scored a run off a base hit by Corbin Saathoff, but he would be left stranded on a fielders' choice of Jace Carlson's at-bat to give Emmetsburg an 8-1 advantage.

In the bottom of the second, WBM/GCB would get Kody Elbert on base off a walk and Nolan Ford on base off a single, but left the two runners stranded to end the inning.

The E-Hawks added two more runs in the top of the third inning after going down two quick outs. Nick Schany hit a double and Jeremiah Weir hit his second Home Run of the contest to plate the two runs for a 10-1 lead to end the at-bat. The Wolverines would get Thad Fogarty and Danie Riesenberg on base off walks, but left them waiting for a way home to end the inning.

In the top of the fourth frame, Emmetsburg got Nick Krieg on base off a fielders' choice and a pitch hit Corbin Saathoff. Jace Carlson got on base off a fielders' choice to load the bases and a fly out would bring Krieg home and a base hit by Bern Dunlap scored Saathoff and Carlson, but a single by Nick Schany was for naught as he was left waiting when Dunlap was put out at third base to end the opportunity. The Wolverines would go down in order in their half of the fourth to make the score 13-1 in favor of the E-Hawks.

In the top of the fifth, the E-Hawks went through the order and pushed four runs over the plate when Jeremiah Weir, Lex Kassel, Dylan Kibbie and Nick Krieg all scored runs, but Hunter McAllister, Ben Dunlap and Nick Schany were left waiting on base when the game ended by rule.

Corbin Saathoff earned the win, going the distance.

Emmetsburg got two Home Runs from Jeremiah Weir, while Nick Schany added a double and a single. Corbin Saathoff, Nick Krieg, Ben Dunlap, Grant Kibbie and Lex Kassel all added base hits to the effort.

For the Wolverines, Thad Fogarty went three innings and gave up six runs, all earned, off six hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Danie Riesenberg pitched one inning and gave up seven runs, all earned, off one hit with seven walks and one strikeout and Hunter Jergens pitched one inning and gave up four unearned runs off two hits with four walks and two strikeouts.

WBM/GCB got tow hits from Danie Riesenberg and a signle from Nolan Ford.
