Peter A. Fog

Peter Fog, of Waseca, MN and recently of Emmetsburg, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Emmetsburg Care Center. He was 94.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca. Interment will follow in Woodville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Services ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Peter Andreas Fog was born July 22, 1924 to Peter and Karen (Bredkjaer) Fog. The family of seven children lived on a farm near Fort Ransom, ND. Peter graduated from Lisbon High School, and from North Dakota State University, Fargo, in 1949, majoring in agriculture. He began his teaching career as a vocational agriculture instructor in Ulen, MN.

In 1951, he was united in marriage to Verna Eis-singer. They moved to Halstad, MN, in 1952 where they established their home and a family of three children: David, Kristi, and Kathy.

Peter earned his master's degree in 1967 and taught at colleges in Crookston, MN and Waseca, MN. He retired in 1990.

Peter was active in his church and many community organizations, as well his political party. Gregarious and enthusiastic, he enjoyed friends and activities, golfing, bowling, toastmasters, weekly coffee discussion groups. He was a willing volunteer, and a helpful neighbor and friend.

Peter moved to Emmetsburg in the fall of 2017 to be closer to family.

He is survived by his three children: David (Kelley) Fog of Emmetsburg, Kristi (Adler) Brennan of Issaquah, WA, and Kathryn Meisel of Winona, MN; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Gunnar (Ruth) Fog of Sawyer, MI, Jorgen (Patsy) Fog of Shoreview; and one sister, Anna Isakson of Lamoure, ND.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Verna, in 2017; his parents; two brothers, Asger and Holger and one sister, Marie (Hans) Jensen.

Peter's family would like to thank all of the staff at Emmetsburg Care Center for the kind and loving care that he received during his stay there. Peter always mentioned the wonderful staff that was such a big part of his life.
