Funeral services for 95-year old Grover Lee Livingston of Emmetsburg were Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg with Rev. John Koopman officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Grover died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, IA.

Grover Lee Livingston was born July 8, 1923 in Marionsville, Missouri to Lyman and Ida (Paul) Livingston, the second of thirteen children. He attended country schools in Missouri, and Grover was very proud of graduating from eighth grade, which was a huge accomplishment for that time and in that part of the United States. While in eighth grade, Grover was employed as the school custodian.

Grover was united in marriage to Myrtle Brawley in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1949. In 1950 Grover, Myrtle and step-son, Dick Brawley moved to Emmetsburg, Iowa.

Grover was employed at Wigdahl Hardware for thirty six years as an appliance serviceman. He and Myrtle became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1973.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle in 2005; his step-son, Dick Brawley in 2014; brothers, LeRoy, Thomas, Joe and Jim; and sisters, Helen, Jewel, Lillian and Loraine.

Grover is survived by his daughter-in-law, Marguerite Brawley and granddaughter, Connie Krough both of Emmetsburg, Iowa; one brother, Gerold Livingston; three sisters, Gladys Swope, Shirley Luther and Connie Eudy, all of Missouri; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
