Emmetsburg News

The 2018 Palo Alto County Fair opened Tuesday morning with judging of static 4-H projects in the Exhibits building at the fairgrounds.

Exhibitors, along with their parents and families turned out with their projects to appear before a judge, who would ask about each project, what the exhibitor did to create their project, and what the exhibtors learned from their projects.

A wide variety of exhibits were brought for judging in project areas including Science and Mechanical Engineering, Visual Arts, Photography, Sewing and Needle Arts, Food and Nutrition and Personal Development, among others.

Each exhibitor received a ribbon placing for their project, with exceptional projects earning consideration for the State Fair, and several projects earning the honor to be exhibited at the Iowa State Fair next month.

The 2018 Palo Alto County Fair will open to the public at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 18 and continue through Sunday, July 22.
