The E-Hawks made the 70-mile trek to Sibley last Friday; the Generals wished they never came.

Emmetsburg beat Sibley-Ocheyedan 55-0. The E-Hawks, who scored 28 points in the first quarter, first scored at the eight-minute mark after taking the opening kickoff and marching down the field. Corbin Saathoff took Connor Joyce's handoff at Sibley's nine-yard line and ran it in for the first score. Cade Jacobson missed the extra point.

Emmetsburg scored at 4:53 when Nick Schany took Joyce's handoff and ran in for a three-yard touchdown. The E-Hawks completed the two-point conversion to go up 14-0.

After a Schany interception, Emmetsburg scored at the 3:42 mark; this time, Jacobson completed the PAT. With 51 seconds to go in the first, Joyce handed the ball to Schany, who ran it in for an eight-yard TD. Jacobson added the PAT to increase the E-Hawks' lead to 28.

After Emmetsburg built a 42-point lead, Coach Mike Dunlap sent in the reserves. Donald Strohman, Colby Weir, Grant Kibbie, Cole Shirk, Lex Kassel and Jon Lace II took a turn at carrying the ball.

To put the game in perspective, Joyce passed once for four yards. Emmetsburg's ground game chewed up the Generals' defense. Schany led all rushers with 159 yards on 17 carries. Saathoff had 104 yards on 15 carriers. Emmetsburg piled up 455 ground yards on 61 carries. The ground game accounted for all seven TDs.

Jacobson completed on five of seven PATs and though he missed, he did attempt Emmetsburg's first field goal this season.

On defense, the E-Hawks shared the wealth with every player contributing a solo tackle or an assist
