Palo Alto County Engineer Walter Davis-Oeth met with the Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors durning their regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 2, to present them with utilities permits for approval.

"I have three utility permits that need to be approved," Davis-Oeth began.

1. Iowa Lakes Regional Water. Highland Township between Sections nine and to put in pipe water to Ayrshire. This would be in the County's right-of-way.

"They have been trying to obtain an easement for the ROW for the past eight month and have not had any luck," Davis-Oeth.

2. Iowa Lakes Electric to put in buried lines to a new hog confinement, in Highland Township, Section 31

3. Ruthven Telephone Company to lay fiber optic to the same hog site in Highland Township, Section 31.

With little debate the decision was unanimous.

In other business, Sarah Strohman, Palo Alto County Public Health, was on hand to submit the budget for the Fiscal Year 2019-2020. Strohman explained some of the things public health takes care of, including home health, home care, Growing Health Kids immunizations, foot Clinics and they

are the nurses at the schools.

"I brought some statics with me," Strohman began. "This way you can see exactly what we do," Strohman said. "Just for example: Our nurses in Home Health saw 355 clients and made over 3,500 visits. Another good example are the immunizations. We gave 1,559 shots to over 500 clients."

There was little more discussion regarding the budget and the Board thanked her for coming in.
