The visitation for Gary H. Headley will be held on Friday, November 30 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Reverand Peter Morlock will officiate.

Inurnment will be Sherburn Cemetery, Sherburn, MN. Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gary Harold Headley, son of Milton and Marion (Folk) Headley, was born January 14, 1947, in Fairmont, MN. He received his education in Minnesota, graduating from Sherburn High School in 1965. While in high school, Gary became known to his friends as Swede.

Following high school Gary served in the United States Navy from 1965 until 1967, when he was honorably discharged.

Gary moved to Emmetsburg where he owned and operated Gary's Automotive store until 1978, when he sold out to EMS. Then he went to work for Terra Corporation as a salesman and later, Stateline Cooperative as a salesman and applicator.

Gary was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg and Pheasants Forever.

Gary passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at Accura of Ogden in Ogden, at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Merrill Headley; brother-in-law, Ron Lubitz; sister-in-law, Linda Jean Headley; an infant granddaughter, Sidney Rae; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Nancy Frink.

He is survived by his children Jeff (Ileigh) Headley of Paton, Roxanne (Tyler) Tasler of Sheldahl, Katie (Ken) Brossman of LaCrosse, WI and Kimberly (Jamie) Terpstra of Union Grove, WI; five grandchildren, Blake Terpstra, Owen Brossman, Devan Brossman, Ashlyn Terpstra and Reid Tasler; special friend, Lynn Johnson of Rolfe; a brother, Aubrey "Chuck" (Joanne) of Livermore, CA; sisters, Linda Lubitz of Twentynine Palms, CA and Kathryn Swift of D'lberville, MI; his first wife, Margaret Headley of Union Grove, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Greg and Mary Ellen Frink of Apache Junction, AZ; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
