The E-Hawks were able to utilize their defensive skills against the Estherville-Lincoln-Central Midgets (3-12), but fell short of defending their home court after the final score of 53-45 on Thursday night.

"I think our defense did a great job", Head Coach Bill Geelan says about his squad. "Not making our free throws was a big factor in the loss".

The E-Hawks were able to play aggressively and did make it to the free throw line, but made 10 of 22 attempts.

Junior Zach Foxhoven led the team in rebounds where he was seemingly in the right place at the right time defensively collecting five of his eight from under the Midgets hoop.

"He did a great job cleaning up the glass for us", Geelan said.

It was junior Tim Geelan who made a big splash for the team going 6 for 11 on his field goals and 3 for 6 from behind the three-point line.

Geelan ended the night with 17 points on top of getting one assist, steal and block.

Sophomore Ben Dunlap had struggles scoring from the field and behind the arc going 2 for 10 and missing each of the four three-point shot attempts.

He finish his night with near perfect free throw shooting going 5 for 7. Ending his night with 9 total points and 5 rebounds.

Corbin Saathoff finished with 6 points and 7 rebounds for the team.

The team goes to Newell-Fonda next week on January 22.

Coach Geelan says it will be a tough game and as long as his team is able to stick to their defensive plan, they will be able to keep their scorers at bay.
