The Emmetsburg E'Hawks were able to continue their successful run by defeating both the hosting Algona Bulldog squad and the other visiting West Hancock teams.

The boys wrestling squad's first dual was against the Bulldogs. The team showed more of the same type of wrestling that has shown them success for the better part of this season and earned four pins by Jon Lace II at the 195-pound weight class, Levi Aldous (126-pounds), Matthew Wirtz (170-pounds), and Ethan Berven (132-pounds).

Due to the hardened Bulldog squad, there were also several other E'Hawks who brought points to the team by decisions and major decisions in their respective weight classes. Jordan Anderson defeated Gavin Meints (7 to 4), Sean Brennan earned a major decision over Hayden Thompson (16 to 6), and Mason Griffin pulled a victory against Carson Devine (4 to 3). Spencer began his night with a technical fall after 4:00 minutes of action winning with a score of 16 to 1 against Hunter Berry. The team was able to successfully defeat the Bulldogs with a final team score of 49 to 15.

Heading into the second dual of the night against West Hancock, more of the same continued to help the E'Hawks become the dual champions. Nick Schany and Levi Aldous both won by decision in their matchups. Bret Hoyman defeated Bennett Bruns in an 11 to 1 major decision. But the highlight of the night was the 24 second pin that earned Spencer Griffin another milestone in his high school wresting career with his 150th win. The E'Hawks were able to defeat West Hancock 40-24.

The wrestling squad will be host to the sectionals meet on February 5 at Emmetsburg High School.
