Maxine M. Eldridge

Funeral services for Maxine M. Eldridge were held on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ruthven.

Rev. Kris Hackbart officiated.

Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.

Martin-Mattice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maxine Eldridge was born on Nov. 22, 1934, in Clay County to Rolla (Bob) and Leta Bradley Cole.

She married Wayne Hanson in 1950. Two children, Lynne Anne and Robert Dean, were born to this marriage.

When the marriage ended, Lynne lived with Maxine and Bobby Dean with his father.

In 1955 Maxine married Donald Eldridge, who farmed east of Lake Center. Donald and Maxine raised three children, Mary, Jim and Mark.

She enjoyed farming and gardening.

After Donald died in 1994, Maxine stayed on the farm.

She was a member of the Ruthven United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Spencer Area Senior Center, where her friends called her "Marge."

In August of 2018, Maxine moved to Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake.

She died on February 12, 2019, at the age of 84.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Leta Cole, her brother and his wife, Robert and Josephine Cole, her husbands Wayne Hansen and Donald Eldridge, and her daughter Lynne Hanson.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Elaine Johnson and Elaine's husband John, and by her children Mary (Philip) Bailey of Scandia, MN, James (Lori) Eldridge of Terril, Mark (Joy) Eldridge of Spirit Lake, and Robert Hanson, and by her grandchildren Adam Bailey, Peter Bailey (wife Vanessa), Laura Bailey. Ethan Eldridge (special friend Sydney Ginkens), Isaac Eldridge, Jeremiah Eldridge and Jonah Eldridge.

In addition, Maxine's son Robert has children and grandchildren.
