E-Hawk Ladies Win Regionals Fail To Advance To Districts

The Emmetsburg girls ended their quest for the State Tournament on February 15 after a spectacular run at the end of there regular season.

The girls, who finished 15-8 on the season, had beaten the North Union Warriors in Armstrong after a thrilling 47-42 finish.

The young team, which should bring excitement knowing there are no seniors, had been enjoying a seven game winning streak. Both this year and last year's teams strung together a great finish at the end of the year.

Junior Molly Schany was able to put together a 15-point night with her 4 from 8 in the filed and her one 3-point shot. Molly was also able to grab 6 defensive rebounds for the Lady Hawks.

Younger sister Abbie Schany, went 3 of 8 from the field, 1 of 3 of her 3-point shots were good and she was able to go 5 for 8 from the free throw line.

Junior Gretchen Hofstad led the team in rebounds for the night with eight. She was also able to score 6 points for the team.

Raven Brown went 4 for 5 from the field, had a perfect 2 for 2 from beyond the arc and grabbed 3 rebounds on the night.

On February 15, the girls met their match against a tough Aplington-Parkersburg team where they lost 38-31 ending their 2018-19 season. No stats were available for this game.

The Lady E-Hawks finsihed their season with a record of 15 to 8. They attempted 1068 field goals and made 390 of them for 36.5 percent.

Total rebounds for the year were 639 with 408 defensive and 231 offensive rebound. Total points scored per quarter: First: 272, Second: 276, Third: 273, and Fourth: 283 with no Overtime points scored. Total point for the year 1,104.

Finally, the Lady E-Hawks only let their opponents score 941 points in the season.
