NAP Deadline March 15, 2019

Noninsured Crop Disaster Program (NAP) - NAP provides financial assistance to eligible producers affected by drought, flood, hurricane or other natural disasters.

NAP covers crop losses and planting prevented by disasters to producers who have timely signed up for the program at the beginning of the crop year.

Landowners, tenants, or sharecroppers who share in the risk of producing an eligible crop are eligible to sign up for the program. Eligible crops includes ag commodities for which the catastrophic level of Federal crop insurance is unavailable. Eligible producers must apply for coverage of noninsurable crops using Form CCC-471," Application for Coverage" and pay the applicable service fee at the FSA office where their farm records are maintained.

The application and service fee for spring planted noninsurable crops must be filed by the application closing date, March 15, 2019.

Again, the NAP closing deadline for most annual fruits and vegetable is March 15.

Eligible producers must apply for coverage and pay the applicable service fees annually by the application closing date. Acreage reports are also due annually.

Coverage for specific crops may be checked online at www/fsa/usda.gov/nap.

If you have any questions, please contact the Palo Alto FSA Office at 712 852 3386 or Emmet County FSA Office at 712 362 7221.
