Services for Leanna M. Schipull will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 10:30 am at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Rev. Peter Morlock will officiate.

Interment will be in High Lake Cemetery at Wallingford.

Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leanna May Schipull, daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Jensen) Iverson, was born June 6, 1945 in Fairmont, MN. Leanna was raised by Clarence Strohman and her mother. She began her education in Wallingford and then attended Estherville Community School, graduating in 1964. Following high school Lea attended Waldorf College and later Iowa Lakes Community College, where she earned her AA Degree. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in education from Buena Vista College.

On July 18, 1969 Lea was united in marriage to Michael Schipull at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Lea was employed as a nurse's aid in Estherville and at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. She also worked at the Palo Alto County Hospital where she was a ward clerk. Lea and a co-owner then opened Cradles to Crayons Daycare. She later operated TLC Daycare until retiring.

Mike and Lea loved camping years ago and made many trips to the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, to celebrate their anniversaries. Lea enjoyed watching birds, reading, writing poetry, collecting angels, teddy bears and hearts. Her favorite color was yellow and she loved her Pomeranian puppies. Lea cherished times spent with her nieces and nephews and loved every one of her day care children.

Leanna passed away Sun. Mar. 17, 2019, at the Emmetsburg Care Center in Emmetsburg, at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Donald Strohman in infancy, Lloyd Iverson, Dwane Iverson and Edward Strohman.

She is survived by her husband, Michael of Emmetsburg; sister, Connie (Roger) Olson of Wallingford; mother-in-law, Evelyn Warmbier of Emmetsburg,; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Duane (Cheryl) Schipull of Davenport; Elaine (Dave) Sidles of Emmetsburg; Merle Schipull of Algona; Craig Schipull of Shelby; Terry (Carol) Warmbier of Grimes; and Marjorie Strohman of NC; nieces and nephews, Amy and Keith Adams of Estherville; Neil and Kathleen Osher of Denver, CO; Robert and Jenna Schipull of Overland Park, KS; David and Brandice Schipull of Bettendorf; Alan and Heidi Vaughn of Estacada, OR; Andrew and Natalie Vaughn of Dunlap, IL; Hannah Warmbier and Tanner Chartier of Lawton; Austin Warmbier and Wendy Grimm of Ames; Tammy and Mike Joiner of Hope Mills, NC; Troy and Pam Iverson of NC; Tonja and Mark Vaughan of NC; Dawn and Tony Hess of Ukraine, and Jennifer and Ryan Hudson of Tacoma, WA; as well as other relatives and friends.
