AuctionFest 31st Annual Fundraiser This Saturday

This is the 31st year for AuctionFest, a fund raiser to benefit Emmetsburg Catholic School. "Deep Blue" is the theme of this year's event, set for Saturday, April 6.

The public is invited to view the auction area on Friday, April 5. AuctionFest Committee members will host the Chamber of Commerce Coffee at Corrigan Hall on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Everyone will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and preview the auction area.

A Preview Party is Friday afternoon, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Corrigan Hall. Those attending can participate in raffles and games throughout the event. Games include Catch of the Day, Seas the Day game, and Half Chance.

An elegant evening at AuctionFest's "Deep Blue" is Saturday, April 6. The evening begins with Mass at Holy Family Church. RSVP guests will then gather at Corrigan Hall. The Silent Auction begins at 5 p.m. Prior to dinner, the invocation will be given by Father Bill Schreiber.

Special guest speaker for AuctionFest 2019 is Nicole Cook, alumna of Emmetsburg Catholic School. She will speak prior to dinner being served.

The Live Auction begins at 7 p.m. Auctioneer Joe Temme is returning to Emmetsburg for the event.

Proceeds from AuctionFest benefit Emmetsburg Catholic School. In past years, funding has been available to upgrade technology and software for the students, in addition to numerous other school projects.

Classroom Projects

Emmetsburg Catholic School students take an active part in AuctionFest with classroom projects. This year's projects from each class are:

3-Year Old Preschoolers: Wine package which includes an Edge Star, 38 bottle, free standing wine cooler. The cooler features two temperature control zones.

4-Year Old Preschoolers: Dr. Seuss package that includes a handmade Dr. Seuss quilt, two red beanbag chairs with pillows, a book case and a Dr. Seuss themed basket with plush characters, coloring books, and more.

Kindergarten Class: Staycation with a stay at Brookstone Lodge in Emmetsburg. Also included are gift certificates to the Pizza Ranch, Shamrock Lanes, Riviera Theatre, Deja Brew, and Five Island Spa.

First Grade Classroom: A trip to Willow Tree to pick out some new planters and plants for outdoor enjoyment. The purchasers can build their own or tell Erica what they want and she will create it. First grade students also personalized a handmade metal cross.

Second Grade Classroom: Nintendo Switch that allows players to play at home or on the go. This includes the Switch console, carrying case, and Mario Kart 8 game. Second grade students also offer a handmade wooden cross with mosaic tiles.

Third Grade Classroom: Backyard party that includes YETI wine glasses, YETI tumblers, and a YETI cooler. This package also includes Pampered Chef grilling tools, a silicon mitt, a wicker serving tray, and a caddy to hold everything.

Fourth Grade Classroom: A portable wooden spool pub table, handmade from recycled materials. The table features the Emmetsburg Catholic School logo on the top.

Fifth Grade Classroom: DeWalt tool package that includes four 20-volt tools: drill/driver, reciprocating saw, impact driver, and circular saw. This package also comes with two 20-volt batteries and a carrying bag.

Sixth Grade Classroom: It's game time with this package that includes a Rally and Radar pop shot arcade basketball game. It also includes Kan Jam and Spike Ball games. Two yard games go with this package for some family fun. There is also one surprise item that the sixth graders are keeping a secret, so check it out.

Seventh Grade Classroom: Camera and Echo Show package. This package includes a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 camera, camera case, four color selfie lenses, six magnetic frames, nine different types of film, three photo albums, and to top it off an Amazon Echo Show which allows the user to stream music, movies, books, and much more.

Eighth Grade Classroom: A fitness package that includes a year membership to Prime Time Fitness, t-shirt and blender bottle from Prime Time, and $100 Amazon card for new shoes or workout gear.

All of the classroom items will be on the Live Auction, along with 50 additional Live Auction items.

Raise the Paddle Cash for Classrooms is another part of the Live Auction. The 2019-2020 Raise the Paddle proceeds will be used to purchase new or refurbish current lockers, as well as continue to update technology. Last year, with the proceeds from Raise the Paddle, the school was able to purchase 50 Chromebooks as well as yearly subscriptions for websites. These websites cover a variety of areas in the curriculum.

There are 20 items on the Premier Silent Auction. The Silent Auction includes a Kids Corner; Holiday section; Pamper Me Please area; Country, Garden and Home; Team Spirit; Toys for Big Boys; and, Services and Gifts.
