With the windmill lawsuits behind them, the Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors looked at the finally expense total for attorney fees which began to accumulate January 2018.

The Supervisors were served litigation papers on the original case.

This original case lasted eight months, ending in favor of the Supervisors.

Nine separate invoices were sent to the county for attorney fees on the case. Amounts of the invoices ranged from $416.43 as high as $28,288.23.

The total amount spent in legal fees was $100,583.41.

The Supervisors carry insurance for just such a reason and although it paid only once, $50,000 was paid by Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP).
