E-Hawk Men go 3 - 2 in First Month of Baseball

The E-Hawks traveled to Storm Lake to take on the Panthers of St. Mary's on Friday, May 31 and give E-Hawk baseball their third victory of the season. Adam Deitering threw 72 pitchers and Lex Kassel threw 84 pitches for a total of 156 pitches for the game.

After seven innings the E-hawks had outscored the Panthers giving them a victory of 7 to 5.

On Thursday, May 30, the E-Hawks played host to the Okoboji Pioneers.

Nick Schany and Cole Keller were at bat five times. Three players were at bat four times, Connor Joyce, Corbin Saathoff, and Grant Kibbie. followed by Lex Kassel and Cole Shirk with three at bats each and Ben Dunlap and Adam Deitering each at bat once. The team totaled of 30 at bats. Nine players were walked and there was one stolen base in those 30 at bats. There were also seven hits and 10 runs with five of those being runs batted in.

Ben Dunlap pitched for 3 1/3 innings throwing 82 pitches un that time. He walked six players, struck out one, gave up four hits and five runs with one earned run, giving Dunlop and earned run average of 2.10 for the game before Cole Keller came in.

Keller pitched 69 pitches in 3 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out four. Keller also gave up six hits and seven runs with five earned runs. This gave Keller a 9.55 earned run average for the game.

The E-Hawks came up slightly short with the final score being E-Hawks 10 - Pioneers 12.

With a record of 3-2-0 for the month of May, the E-Hawks have some impressive stats.

With five games played, they have been at bat a total of 102 times. The team has 31 total runs in 31 total hits, with one hit being a double.

The team has been walked 32 times and have37 strike outs and 12 stolen bases.Rounding out the team stats is 15 runs batted in and four sacrifice hits.

The next three games are at home. June 3 against Newell Fonda, June 5 against Southeast Valley, and June 6 against Storm Lake. All three games begin at 5:30 p.m.
