Funeral services for Marguerite E. Brawley will be Wednesday, July 10, at 10:30 am. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg with Rev. John Koopman officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 pm. Tuesday, July 9, at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.

Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marguerite Elaine (Schulz) Brawley, daughter of Hans John and Leona (Felsing) Schulz was born June 12, 1938 and grew up on a farm near Laurens. She graduated from Laurens Consolidated High School in 1956.

In Storm Lake, Marguerite began serving as a live-in child care provider and housekeeper for the children of Sarah and Percy Larson. She was part of the family when the Larsons came to Emmetsburg. Here Marguerite met Dick Brawley. They were united in marriage on December 18, 1959 at Marguerite's mother's church in Garner. They made their home in Emmetsburg and were the parents of one daughter, Connie.

Marguerite began working at Joyce's Foodland serving customers for ten years. Then for the next 11 1/2 years she was employed at Lakeside Lutheran Home serving the residents as one of the housekeepers.

Marguerite and her family joined the fellowship of St. Paul Lutheran church where she remained a faithful and devoted member throughout the rest of her life.

Marguerite passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at her home in Emmetsburg, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Leona Schulz; her husband, Dick in 2014; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Myrtle and Grover Livingston; two brothers, John and Philip Schulz.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Krough of Emmetsburg; her sister, Carol Felsing and her husband, Richard Wright of Deming, NM; two sisters-in-law, Carol Schulz of Spencer, and Clara Schulz of Cadiz, Spain and Haslet, TX; nephews, Dan (Kathy) Schulz of Marathon, Perry Schulz of Broomfield, CO, Philip (Mari-Jose) Schulz of Haslet, TX and Curtiss (Bethany) Wright of Lino Lakes, MN; niece, Mari (Tom) Fries of San Diego, CA; cousins; as well as her friends.
