The E-Hawks would see a pair of wins and a setback during last week's basketball matchups, winning on the road Tuesday in a close contest against Sioux Central, 51-46, and beating Pocahontas Area at home on Friday, 75-64. The boys would face a setback in Estherville on Thursday night, falling to ELC 52-64.

"Last week, we had a couple really big conference wins against Sioux Central on the road and against Pocahontas at home," said Head Coach Bill Geelan. "I thought we executed our game plans pretty well in those games. We came up short in Estherville, though. We needed to take better care of the basketball and rebound on the defensive end. Rebounding will be a big emphasis for us moving forward."

Added Coach Geelan, "I'm proud of our effort as a team all last week. I thought we played extremely hard and competed well in all three games."

The 7-7 E-Hawks will host Newell-Fonda on Tuesday night.

"Tuesday will be a big game for us," said Coach Geelan. "We have a lot of little things we will have to make sure we take care of to win. Defensive rebounding is going to be at the top of the list as well as taking care of the basketball against their full court pressure. We will have to play hard on defense and be productive offensively for four quarters if we want to have a shot to win. I know our guys are looking forward to the challenge!"
