The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (GTRA) girls' and boys' basketball seasons came to a close last week. The Lady Titans fell to MMCRU on Tuesday night, 34-71, while the boys lost to St. Edmond's on Thursday, 31-61.

Lady Titans

The GTRA girls would struggle to stop the MMCRU offensive effort throughout the contest, with the Royals driving up the score in the first half to 40 points to GTRA's 21. The Lady Titans had difficulty moving the ball early in the second quarter, relying on senior Madison Hough's points to keep hopes alive before the break. In the second half, the girls would gain solid defensive bursts but just could not catch the Royals.

Hough would score 28 points on the night, landing four three-point shots and grabbing five rebounds.

Senior Lauren Josephson and sophomores Mackenzie Hoffman and Kate Sorenson each had a score on the night, with Josephson giving a strong defensive effort under the net for six rebounds.

The Lady Titans finish out the season at 8-15.

Titans

The GTRA boys faced St. Edmond's at Bishop Garrigan HIgh School. While both teams struggled in the first quarter, the Gaels broke away in the second quarter with a scoring run to enter the break up by 16 points. St. Edmond's speed would continue to plague the young Titans in the second half as the Gaels entered continuous clock mode to finish out the game with the win.

Freshman Max Hough led the Titans on the board, putting up 11 points with six of eight from the free throw line.

Freshman Drew Schnell scored six points on the night and sophomore Blake Rosacker put up five.

Freshman Kory Hough would fight his way for five rebounds during the contest.

The Titans end their season at 6-14.
