May 8, 2020

Due to the regulations set by the Governor's Public Health Disaster Declaration, no public visitation or service will be held at this time. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Rev. Peter Morlock will officiate.

Keith Douglas Anderson, son of Donald G. and Anola (Chapman) Anderson, was born April 7, 1958 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. As a child Keith lived with his family, near Armstrong, on a farm. He received his education in Armstrong, graduating from Armstrong High School in 1976. Keith was proud to be an Armstrong Tiger and participated in baseball, basketball and football during high school. He was also a member of the FFA organization which sparked his interest in agriculture. Following high school graduation he continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College in the Agricultural Division, completing the program in 1978.

Keith then accepted a job at the Cylinder Coop where he worked for several years before moving on to a job at Farmland. While employed at Farmland, Keith worked in sales and then became a warehouse manager in Algona. After several years at Farmland he completed his sales career with Land O Lakes in Spencer. He returned to the Cylinder Coop for his last few years of employment.

On June 20, 1981, Keith was united in marriage to Karla Rae Campe at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. They were blessed with four children. Keith's interest in sports and his love for "the game" was passed on to his daughters. One of his favorite past times was watching them develop into ball players. In his younger years, Keith enjoyed summer nights playing slow-pitch softball with his bride and their friends. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan and would share his love of these teams with anyone who would listen. Keith also enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping, boating and sitting around the campfire with his family and friends.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and participated in many of the youth activities with his daughters. He enjoyed serving the church and God by sharing his talents and deep faith with his church family.

After fighting a gallant battle against early on-set dementia, Alzheimer's Disease and other health issues, Keith passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katie Mae in 1984; his parents, Donald and Anola Anderson; a brother, Terry Jo Anderson; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Campe.
