Lady E-Hawks Take the Win

The Lady E-Hawks found victory on Wednesday and Thursday, winning big over Manson Northwest Webster, 12-2, and finishing with the lead over Spencer, 7-4.

On Wednesday, the Lady E-Hawks were firing on all cylinders at home field, getting on the board early in the first inning, scoring a run with a Molly Schany single on a 3-2 count. Schany would score four runs on the day.

In the second inning, Emmetsburg scored five runs with an offensive onslaught led by Lindsay Carter, Raegen Swanson, Brie Madden, and Abbie Schany.

On the mound, Carter went five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out eight.

Emmetsburg had 14 hits during the contest - Cheyanne Fries, Macy McAllister, Molly Schany, Abbie Schany, Madden, and Swanson each collected multiple hits to lead the Lady E-Hawks.

Emmetsburg did not commit a single error throughout the game.

Thursday's matchup against Spencer saw the Lady E-Hawks take over late in the game. Tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Lindsay Carter singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Along with Carter, Molly Schany, Swanson, Madden, and Emma Auten each scored one run during the contest, while Taylor Steinkamp scored two.

The Lady E-Hawks faced off against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (GTRA) on Monday, take on Algona at home on Tuesday, Alta-Aurelia at home on Wednesday, and face Pocahontas Area at Pocahontas on Friday.
