On March 14, 2023, Beverly Yvonne (Wilcox) Lenz was called home to be with Jesus Our Lord and Savior. Beverly was born in Pocahontas, Iowa on Aug. 29, 1934; the daughter of Edwin and Lucille Wilcox. She was the oldest of 11 children. Her family moved several times, going to school at Eagle Grove, Altoona, Ventura, Clear Lake; graduating from Laurens High School in 1953.
Beverly met her future husband as a guest at a Walther League meeting at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mallard. They didn’t date until she was asked out on April 4, 1954 – Something Special. They were married on Oct. 27, 1954 in Jackson, MN by Rev. Wm. J. Rossiter.
Beverly was confirmed and joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard on April 3, 1955 by Rev. Norris C. Crook. She was baptized on June 10, 1962 at Grace Lutheran Church, Waterloo, by Rev. M.W. Bergman. At the time of her passing Beverly had been a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia.
During over 68 years of marriage, Beverly raised 6 sons and 3 daughters, teaching them the way, the truth and the life. Beverly loved the little ones, especially as babies. If any one Bible verse fit it would be – Suffer the little ones to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of God. In the late 70s and early 80s she drove a noon kindergarten route and a special education student for our family bus service.
