E-Hawks Fall in Dual Setbacks

Following a hard-fought 6-2 win over South Central Calhoun last Monday night, the E-Hawks would struggle to find their offensive footing as the week continued, falling to West Hancock on the road, 3-1, and Estherville Lincoln Central (ELC) at home, 12-2.

Traveling to Britt on Thursday night, the E-Hawks played strong throughout the evening, but West Hancock was just a little stronger at the plate to take the 3-1 win.

Emmetsburg would get on the board first in the second inning when Grant Kibbie singled on a ground ball to left field, sending Lex Kassel in for the score. However, the Eagles would put up two runs of their own in the third inning and one in the fourth, pulling away for good.

Offensively, the E-Hawks recorded just three hits during the contest, with Kyle Kogel, Keegan Joyce, and Kibbie each credited with one.

On the pitcher's mound, Cole Keller went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out four batters.
