Robert “Bob” Scott, age 86, of Emmetsburg passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at PARC Hall in Emmetsburg.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Air Force and members of Emmetsburg VFW, Post #2295. The Lentz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Robert Richard Scott, the son of Jacob and Marguerite (Armstrong) Scott, was born on Sept. 27, 1935 in Emmetsburg. He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1953. Afterwards, Bob attended Emmetsburg Junior College. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958.
On July 9, 1965 Bob was united in marriage to Virginia Lappegard in Sioux Falls, SD., and he welcomed her children, Cynthia and Alan into their home. Bob worked for Wells Blue Bunny Dairy and retired in 1995. He was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Cubs and the Emmetsburg E-hawks. Bob also enjoyed camping, his morning coffee group, and socializing with anyone who wanted to talk sports. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, and he loved following them in their activities.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his children, Tim Scott of Fort Dodge, Kim (Scott) Kibbie of Emmetsburg, Rich (Sabrina) Scott of Cylinder, Cynthia (Tom) Fuoss of Sioux Falls, SD and Alan Helmick of Estherville; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brothers, William and James Scott.
