Funeral services for David Clasing will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven, Iowa.

Interment is at Highland Cemetery in Ruthven.

David William Clasing, son of Dale and Mary (Hamilton) Clasing, was born November 23, 1959 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.  He grew up in Ruthven where he received his education, graduating from Ruthven High School in 1978.

On September 23, 1989 Dave was united in marriage to Gina Roland and they were blessed with two children, Katie and Michael.  Dave was later married to Deb Domek on November 23, 2011.

Dave owned and operated Clasing Excavation and was also employed at the Ruthven Farmers Coop Elevator.  Dave and his family lived in South Dakota for two years where he managed a ranch.  After returning to Palo Alto County, Dave did grain farming and raised livestock.  Most recently he was operating his own trucking business.

Dave was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ruthven and currently a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg.

When Dave was younger he enjoyed hunting and riding snowmobiles.  He and Deb liked to go camping and loved traveling in the past few years. Dave also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing Euchre on Sundays.  He could often be found watching Western shows on T.V. as well as FOX News.  Dave had a great personality and a laugh that will be remembered by all that knew him. 

Dave passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at his home in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 65.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Mary Clasing.

He is survived by his wife, Deb Clasing of Emmetsburg, Iowa; children and grandson, Katie and Ross Frederiksen and their son, Emmett of Storm Lake, Iowa and Michael and Madison Clasing of Prairie City, Iowa; step daughters, Cassady and Joe Gutierrez of Etna, Ohio and Brandi Roland of Apache Junction, Arizona; his sister, Cathy Harpst of Rockwall, Texas; niece and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
