A Mass of Christian Burial for Ernest "Ernie" Manwarren was held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Interment was at St John's Catholic Cemetery in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Ernest Manwarren, son of Orville and Nettie (Gray) Manwarren was born December 6, 1956 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He received his education in Emmetsburg.
As a young man Ernie worked for Pamida in Emmetsburg as well as Hersom Construction. He was then employed at Stylecraft in Milford where he worked for fifteen years. Ernie then began his employment at Kerber Milling which has become Standard Nutrition. He has worked there for fourteen years and was planning on retiring next year.
On July 7, 1989 Ernie was united in marriage to Diane Marks in Emmetsburg, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Megan, Mathia and Justin.
Ernie loved going to the Casino and playing slots with his family. He also looked forward to drives around the area and trips with Diane. Each year Ernie had a garden that he enjoyed caring for and he liked mowing yards. Ernie was always cheerful and willing to visit with others.
Ernie passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Nettie Manwarren; sister-in-law, Shelia Manwarren; nieces and nephews, Travis and Kari Lenz, Steven and James Manwarren, and John Halstead; and a great-nephew, Matthew Beenken.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of Emmetsburg, Iowa; his children, Megan (Devin) Moon of Arnolds Park, Iowa, Mathia (Angel) Nieves of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Justin Manwarren of Emmetsburg, Iowa; four grandchildren, Norina and Brextyn Moon and Joshua and Amelia Nieves; brothers, Jim (Susan) Manwarren of Titonka, Iowa and Dennis (Sharon) Manwarren of Emmetsburg, Iowa; sisters, Sherri (Tom) Higgins of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Patricia “Patty” Manwarren of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Becky (Mike) Lenz of Curlew, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
