Funeral services for Margaret “Peggy” Osterman will be held at a later date.
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Osterman, daughter of Richard Rybolt and Mary “Betty” Daley, was born October 8, 1943 in Middletown, Ohio. She received her education and graduated from Canoga Park High School in California in 1961. Following graduation, she earned her Teaching Degree in Elementary Education from Valley State College in San Fernando Valley, California.
Peggy was married to John Siglong and together they had three children: Rick, Mitchell, and Cindy.
She taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade for many years in both California and Florida. Later, Peggy worked for Rockwell International as an Administrative Office Assistant working on the B1 Bomber Program. In 1992, Peggy married Paul Osterman. After retiring from Rockwell International, she and Paul moved to Emmetsburg, Iowa, where they owned and operated the Queen Marie Bed and Breakfast for several years.
Peggy was an active leader in 4-H and enjoyed being a part of the program. Peggy loved to travel. One of her favorite places to go was Ireland. She celebrated her Irish heritage and enjoyed getting to experience her family roots. She also had many great memories of visiting Japan and going on several cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean with Paul.
Peggy passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her son, Rick and parents, Richard and Mary.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Osterman of Emmetsburg, Iowa; son, Mitchell; daughter, Cindy; five grandchildren, Garett, Paige, Codey, Keanan, and Finnley; sisters, Susan Clark of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Sally Daley of Santa Rosa, California; niece, Cherie; nephew, Jesse; as well as many other relatives and friends.
