Mari “Roxane” Wuebker

ALBIA -- Mari “Roxane” Wuebker, age 64, of Lovilia passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at the Monroe County Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on April 23, 1956 in Ottumwa to Charles William “Bill” and Madon-na (Newton) Richmond.

Roxane graduated from Albia High School, class of 1974. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, MO.

She married Kevin Wuebker on June 3, 1978 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lovilia. She started her social work career at Oakwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Albia and spent the last 20-plus years working for West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville.

Roxane was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan and was always the host of the party. Entertaining family and friends was something she cherished the most. Most of all, Roxane treasured the time she spent with her three granddaughters, Graecie, Bailey, and Laken.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Wuebker of Lovilia; children, Alisha Wuebker of Lovilia, Shelby Wuebker (Steven Mach) of Osseo, WI; three grandchildren, Graecie and Bailey Wuebker and Laken Mach; brother, Michael (Debbie) Richmond of Ankeny; mother-in-law, Bonnie Wuebker of Emmetsburg, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also left to mourn the loss of Roxane are Nancy Kinsey, Pam Starcevic, Kelly and Ryder Hoffman of Lovilia, as she often referred to them as her “fake family.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Madonna Richmond; infant son, Jared Wuebker; son, Joshua Wuebker; brother, Issac “Ike” Richmond; maternal grandparents, Issac and Edna Newton; Paternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Richmond; nep-hew, Scott Richmond; niece, Michelle Richmond, and father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Wuebker.

Funeral services was Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Father Bernie Weir officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Autism Society of America or the National Kidney Foundation.
