Funeral services for Gloria Mogler, 61, were held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Interment is at Apostolic Christian Cemetery in West Bend, Iowa.
Gloria Ann Mogler, daughter of Max Lee and Marlys (Peters) Wilcox, was born January 10, 1963, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Emmetsburg, graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1981.
On March 27, 1982, Gloria was united in marriage to Timothy Mogler in West Bend, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Justin, Heidi, and Audrey.
Gloria was employed at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, as an X-Ray Technician. She later worked at Snap-On in Algona and most recently at Horizons Unlimited in Emmetsburg as a Direct Support Professional for the clients. Gloria retired early due to health issues.
Gloria loved to be with her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. When her kids were young, Gloria always made sure she took them camping. Setting up camp and sleeping in tents was a big highlight to her. She enjoyed it more than the kids. She also liked the vacation times at the Wisconsin Dells. Gloria looked forward to going out with her Snap-On friends and co-workers and she enjoyed the years she spent being on a dart league. Gloria was known as “everybody’s mom” to all of her children’s friends. She loved to have a good time.
She was an avid Vikings and Hawkeye football fan. She was a “BIG” fan of Snoop Dogg and had the joy of attending a concert last year. Gloria loved visiting with people and would spend time at Kwik Star, sitting at the outside tables chatting with patrons or employees. She also liked to stay up on the events by listening to her police scanner.
Gloria passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Emmetsburg Care Center at the age of 61. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Marlys Wilcox; her brother, Kirby Wilcox; and a grandchild they lovingly called Little Peanut.
She is survived by her children, Justin Mogler (Danielle) of Estherville, Iowa, Heidi Horst of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Audrey Hansen (Lonnie) of Emmetsburg, Iowa; their father, Timothy Mogler of Algona, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kaylee Froderman, Gianna Froderman, Kiylee Mogler, Emma Hansen, and Ethan Hansen; one great grandson, Robert Miller, Jr. and another great grandchild on the way; nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and many friends.
