Services are pending for James "Jim" Lashbrook, age 60 of Casper, WY, formerly of Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

James “Jim” Robert Lashbrook, son of Robert and Maxine (Peterson) Lashbrook, was born Dec. 31, 1960 at Palo Alto Memorial Hospital, Emmetsburg. He grew-up in Emmetsburg and attended school there. He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1980. Jim went on to attend the Auto Technology program at Iowa Lakes Community College, Emmets- burg.

Jim’s career included doing body work, mechanics, and painting of all sorts of cars, trucks, motorcycles, and industrial equipment in the communities of Emmetsburg, Spencer, and Des Moines, and Casper, WY. In his spare time, he enjoyed helping others with their car and motorcycle restoration projects.

Jim had a good sense of humor and was a sociable guy who enjoyed meeting and getting to know the people in the communities he lived in. He particularly enjoyed riding his motorcycle and travelled with his friends on various trips. Jim liked attending NASCAR auto races, shooting pool, and was a competitive card player.

Jim married Angela Albiston of Albert City in 1996. The couple lived in Spencer where Jim worked as a mechanic for Exhaust Pros. The couple divorced in 2005.

After a battle with lung disease (COPD), Jim passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at his home in Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lashbrook; grandparents, Jess and Kathryn Lashbrook and Peter and Marie Peterson; and former spouse, Angela Lashbrook.

Jim is survived by his mother, Maxine Lashbrook of Emmetsburg; his sister, Laurie Lashbrook of Prior Lake, MN; and his life partner, Melissa Fenster and her sons, Ty and TeJay of Casper, WY.
