Bonnie Mae Anliker, daughter of Bill and Elva (Horton) Weber, was born March 16, 1932, on a farm near Granger, Iowa. She received her education from Beulah Country School near Granger until 8th grade. She graduated Valedictorian, from Woodward High School in Woodward, Iowa. Following high school, she attended Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she earned her teaching certificate.

She began her teaching career at Rodman Consolidated School in Rodman, Iowa, where she met her husband, Sidney Anliker. They were married on September 16, 1953, in Woodward, Iowa. They had two sons, Mark and Keith.

Bonnie taught fourth grade at Cylinder Community School, then Emmetsburg Community School at the Cylinder building and  helped Sid on the family farm. 

Upon retiring from teaching, Bonnie and Sid discovered a new passion for stained glass, showcasing their artistry at the Clay County Fair and the Iowa State Fair for a decade. Her commitment to community extended to volunteering for Palo Alto County at regional and state tourism events for 15 years.

Bonnie cherished her farm life, staying connected to her former students, relishing moments with her family and delighting in her grandchildren. 

Bonnie passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid; parents, Bill and Elva Weber; brother, Darrel Weber; and sister-in-law, Olive Weber.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Barb) Anliker of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Keith (Sally) Anliker of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Bertha) Weber; as well as many other relatives and friends.
