Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Mallard.

Timothy Nels Schutz, son of Donald and Donna (Rasmussen) Schutz (Bittner), was born on March 28, 1948, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Tim attended Mallard Schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy before graduating and earned his GED during his Military Service. The Mallard class of 1966 always thought of him as part of their class and included him in all class reunions. Tim proudly served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1964 -1969. After he was honorably discharged, Tim took a class in mechanics at Iowa Lakes Community College.

Tim met the love of his life, Dorothy Evelyn Montag, while she was on a blind date with one of his friends. The couple was married three months later on December 17, 1971, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend. The couple started out at the Montag Farm in Rodman, then moved to South Dakota and from there they moved to Arizona and eventually moved back "Home" to Mallard. Tim worked various jobs throughout their moves. In Mallard, Tim and Dorothy owned Schutz Market for five years. When the couple moved to Arizona, he started off as a heavy machine operator for Apache Pipelines and was promoted to job superintendent. Out of all his job choices, trucking was his passion. He retired from over the road trucking in 2013. Six months into Tim's retirement, he realized how much he missed trucking and started helping the Schmidt Family. He hauled grain and whatever else they needed his help with.

Tim and Dorothy were blessed with four children: Tracy, Tom, Donald and Tera. Tim loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he earned the Grand Knight title. Tim was a member of the Mallard American Legion and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Left to cherish Tim's memory are his wife of 52 years: Dorothy of Mallard; his children: Tracy (Steve Brown) Schutz of Mallard, Tom (Michael Maxey) Schutz of Bennington, NE, Donald (Roseann) Schutz of Manchester and Tera Schutz of Corwith; six grandchildren; sisters: Donita Hellickson of Curlew, Kim Robbins of Mallard and Kay Lurvey of Mallard; along with numerous other family members and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents: Donald Schutz and Donna Bittner.
